Andrew Aoki

Principal & Co-Founder

Andrew is co-founder of 3Point. His experiences include: helping develop and organize an emerging social movement as a leader of Kanu Hawaii, co-founding and developing College Connections Hawai‘i—a nonprofit organization created to improve educational opportunities in Hawai‘i; overseeing the grant making program of the HMSA Foundation to improve health and healthcare in Hawai‘i; planning and conducting performance audits of different state agencies as an analyst for the Hawai‘i State Auditor; directing youth and teen programs in communities across the state as a program director for the YMCA of Honolulu; co-authoring an award winning economic development policy for the Oglala Sioux Nation of Pine Ridge, South Dakota as a graduate student at Harvard; researching criminal and civil law for the Intermediate Court of Appeals of Hawai‘i; counseling and tutoring students in Honolulu and in East Palo Alto, California; and various other current and past public service activities in Hawai‘i.

In recognition of his entrepreneurial public service work in Hawai‘i, Andrew received the 2002 Ho‘okele Award for nonprofit leadership. He is also a member of the Hawai‘i State Bar Association. Throughout his career, Andrew has worked with an extensive range of community leaders, organizations, agencies, and citizens as a facilitator, coach, presenter, researcher, planner, board member, and problem solver. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Stanford University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Master of Public Policy specializing in economic development, social policy, and state government from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he was designated as a Kennedy Fellow for exceptional academic ability and professional distinction.
